Disappointing

I loved the original Greendale album & was delighted & intrigued to find this. However, this live solo set (no Crazy Horse) is meandering & dull. The stripped-down format does the material few favours - in fact the banality of a lot of the lyrics & weak story-line are made evident without CH. Generally NY's singing & playing are little more than adequate - not that a sycophantic audience, who guffaw loudly at the least mumble from The Man, seem to mind. With so much of the album taken up with rambling spoken intros, it reduces Greendale to an extended shaggy dog story/in joke. However, NY's new Live Archive series - check the Fillmore 71 set - shd make up for this disappointment. Meanwhile, think I'll go play Greendale again..

From the beginning of his solo career in the late '60s through...
