Album Review

Joe Liggins & His Honeydrippers were known for their gentle R&B/jump/swing mix, best exemplified by the massive hit, "The Honeydripper," which unfortunately was released the year before this collection begins, and is not included here. A mellow, comforting and easygoing set, this compilation won't disappoint fans already acquainted with Liggins, but probably won't convert newcomers. The most striking track is the concluding one, "Dripper's Blues."
