Great move forward

Those who look to this album having only heard Tubthumping will be dissappointed and confused, but those who have followed the band will see that this is a fantastic leap forward. Great harmonies and stunning lyrics, with that hint of protest. The music is modern folk, following in the traditions of years gone by. Beautifully put together, simple, catchy and poignant. When will we see them at Cropredy (too challenging for the bland Cambridge folk I think!). Thank you guys and well done

Another slice of Chumba !

Everyone knows Chumba from their massive hit 'Tubthumping'...but since those days they have changed somewhat dramatically...for the better ! Since they have gone 'folk' their music has become catchier and very pleasant to the ears...superb harmonies, but still gutsy and with a large pinch of protest. On this album I particularly like 'Wagner at the Opera'...a song about Jewish protest against the Anti semetic Opera composer. 'Torturing James Hetfield' is an instant classic...amusing but with an underlying snipe at the self proclaimed Metal know...the ones that want to stop you from downloading for free....they are getting quite poor you know ! I've always loved punk music, but when Chumba started I didnt care too much for their anarcho dirges...but this is so much better...a giant leap forwards from their early albums. Firmly entrenched as my fave band !

I find this music rather amusing but i wouldn't buy it.

After more than a decade in relative obscurity, much of it spent attacking the very notion of stardom, the band signed to a major label in 1997 and quickly scored a major international hit with the riotous single "Tubthumping." The single would prove to the band's commercial peak, even though Chumbawamba continued issuing politically aware albums (many of them featuring...
