Definatly Abba's finest moment. the addition of the first new material since 1994 is an excelent bonus

Their best album.....

I am of the opinion that Abba"s best songs were those that never made it as singles and this album is just full of those. From the theatrical I Hear the Music Speak - surely an indication of where Benny and Bjorns talents were headed - to the haunting Soldiers, this was never off my turntable when it was first released. This re-release includes the lesser known tracks Cassandra and my all time favourite Abba song The Day Before You Came which was cruelly overlooked by the record buying public back in the 80"s. Nice to hear the previously unreleased track but why oh why didn't they include Just Like That, the one track that every Abba fan would love to get their hands on?

Their darkest and best

Despite being most remembered for their upbeat pop, Abba always had a thread of melancholy running through their work - think SOS and Knowing Me Knowing You. Here, on their final studio album, they gave full reign to this side of their music, producing such a somber, downbeat album that the only two 'pop' moments - Head Over Heels and Two For The Price Of One - sound awkwardly out of place. Please don't be put off - it may not have the catchy fizz of their most popular songs but it contains such strong, mature, introspective material that I still consider it their best work and definitely amongst my top ten favourite albums of all time. The bonus tracks have, with one exception, been available before but are still uniformly excellent, and the final track showing the evolution of Like An Angel Passing Through My Room is fascinating. No Just Like That, as others have pointed out - but a superb album nevertheless.

The most commercially successful pop group of the 1970s, the origins of the Swedish superstars ABBA dated back to 1966, when keyboardist and vocalist Benny Andersson, a onetime member of the popular beat outfit the Hep Stars, first teamed with guitarist and vocalist Bjorn Ulvaeus, the leader of the folk-rock unit the Hootenanny Singers. The two performers began composing songs together and handling session and production work for Polar Music/Union Songs, a publishing company owned by Stig Anderson,...
