Live Blackfoot

It seems such a long time ago ..... 1982. At their undoubted peak, Blackfoot delivered some virtuoso performances during the UK tour of '82. I was fortunate enough to see them in Edinburgh, and some of this album was recorded there. If you like the studio stuff, and like Skynyrd you will like this. From Jackson Spires imperious drumming to Rick Medlockes wild licks and powerful singing, this is a car crash of a live album. Charlie " guitar" Hagrett is subdued by his on stage buddy Medlocke, but adds some great in fills and rythm. The video age did for Blackfoot...shame cause they are a fine rock band. I think this is them at their whisky swilling best.

Sadly overlooked, great nonetheless!

Blackfoot are one of those bands who deserved more fame than they got. They were a truly great band who penned some of the most thunderous heavy boogie tunes of the 80s. Like Iron Maiden mixed with Skynyrd, this album proves their onstage chops and just what an amazing show they put on. Medlocke is a brilliant frontman, brimming with charisma and over the top histrionics - and a simply earth moving voice. Brilliant chugging, southern fried rock'n'roll - not to be missed!
