Wow, this band is just AWESOME, no doubt about it! I'm obsessed with ''Homecoming'', can't stop playing it on the guitar and singing it lol. After I heard it I wanted to download the whole album and I can tell you, i wasn't disappointed! I really hope to know all the song lyrics off by heart soon haha. But something is annoying me.. WHY ARE PEOPLE COMPARING THEM TO PARAMORE? I must admit that when I first heard them I did think of paramore straight away but then I stopped and thought ''No, this is COMPLETELY different!''. Hey Monday's music is nothing like Paramore, Hey Monday's sound is more ''pop rock'', were as Paramore's sound is alternative rock. Cassadee's voice is NOTHING like Hayley's (we must all agree that Hayley's voice is much more powerful but Cassadee has a VERY good voice). So why is everyone saying that they're a clone of Paramore? Here are some POSSIBLE reasons (not saying all of you think this way :D) why some people think they're exactly the same: 1 - In the video ''Homecoming'' Cassadee throws her hair around which is something Hayley has always done when she sings.. BUT Hayley didn't invent head banging did she? Both of them have long hair so naturally it will fly about. 2- Just because Hey Monday has a female lead singer some people may think they copied another band that has a female singer which in this case, Paramore. um, the lamest reason I've ever heard! 3 - Well tbh, maybe some people just don't give new bands a chance. which is plain sad. Those are the only three lame reasons why some people think they are soooooo ''the same''. So, after reading this do you still think Hey Monday copied Paramore? Just to let you all know, I am a HUUUUGE MAAASIVE Paramore fan and I've just told you my opinion on this stupid comparison. Stop getting all hyped up about it and just continue to listen to Paramore and begin to listen to Hey Monday!

Not a bad debut at all

Yes, we all know about the Paramore comparison; but setting that aside, Hey Monday aren't bad. Quite the opposite; they're good. The singalong tracks tend to be stronger. For example: Homecoming (their single), How You Love Me Now, Should've Tried Harder and Obvious. I don't like Candles simply because Cassadee's voice becomes sickly sweet. That's where Hey Monday and Paramore differ; Hayley adds lashings of clout whereas Cassadee takes a sweeter, higher approach to the notes. That's the only grating point with me. The music is good, not ground-breaking but the guys certainly know how to play their instruments. This debut album is the beginning of a trip to the big time. And Hey Monday are much better live; saw them supporting Fall Out Boy in London and Cassadee's voice was much better than on the studio tracks. It had less of a manufactured edge and it seemed more real, somehow.

Surported Fall Out Boy on there UK tour, were amazing, cassadee popes voice is somethin special.. every1 should buy thsi album.. theres not a bad song on it!!!

Formed: 2007 in West Palm Beach, FL

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Led by powerhouse vocalist Cassadee Pope, Hey Monday debuted their fizzy emo-pop sound with 2008's Hold on Tight. The band formed in West Palm Beach, FL, where Pope was first discovered at a regional music conference. Although still in high school, the singer drew attention from A&R execs with her voice, which recalled the radio-ready wail of Avril Lavigne and Paramore's Hayley Williams. She then formed a band with fellow teenagers Jersey Moriarty (bass), Elliot James (drums), and guitarists Mike...
