Take Notice...Alex Parks has landed !!!

It is often said that success on reality TV means a steep rise and even steeper fall. In 2003, Alex Parks looked every bit your standard fair from TV. We could all see she was special, but was shedestined to become another victim of fast tracking in the music industry? It it obvious now, that this sentiment was not lost on her. Her record company rushed out the over produced, over hyped "Introduction" and then she was gone...for ever most of us thought. Where did she go??? Away to write one of the most beautiful and stunning albums of 2005!! In "Honesty" you will fine a mix of joy and sadness, all delivered with the unique voice that is Alex Parks, but on your second or maybe third journey through this album, you start to hear the subtle layers that are missed on first listen. Take your time with this album and you will discover some excellent vocal performances, and on one track in particular that is destined to become a classic track of 2005. "From The Inside" is as good as any track that has picked up a Grammy award since I started to follow music (too many years ago!). If you are nervous about purchasing "Honesty" because of your dislike of "Introduction", then don't be, This album is in a different class to the first and should allow Alex to command the musical respect her talent richly deserves.

Impressive, and really quite lovely...

Her debut album certainly didn't show off Alex at her best, and with such a long period of quiet between releases, this album comes as a very pleasant suprise. Mainly slow but heartfelt tracks, 'Honesty' stands out as a faster and more energetic song that really showcases Alex's unique voice and is a highlight of the album. Other notable tracks include 'Get Out', 'Sweeter & Sweeter' and 'From The Inside'. Overall a very nice album to listen to and one that will hopefully get Alex Parks back in the spotlight where she belongs!

Alex to chill out to

This is Dido with an Alex twist. Meaningful lyrics, beautifully produced (unlike the hastily prepared Introduction), and music to spend the night with. If you thought Alex was all angst and volume, think again. Take the time to find the bonus track - it will make you tap your feet and smile :)
