Album Review

Michael Mayer (“Lovefood”), Tosca (“Heidi Bruehl”), Soulstice (“Wind [Fila Brazilia Remix]”), and Lee “Scratch” Perry (who guests on Zuco 103's “Love Is Queen Omega”) are some of the bigger names who populate the eighth volume of the Hôtel Costes mix album series. The DJ, Stéphane Pompougnac, also contributes “Last Night,” an oddball tune drenched in organ. As usual, the selections maintain an upbeat, albeit relaxing, mood. A cover of Donald Byrd's mid-'70s jazz-funk classic "Think Twice" is unrecognizable until the vocal kicks in.

Buy this whatever you do

This is THE perfect late night soundtrack. Stephane does is it again, this album totally surpassed my expectations on what appeared to be a dying series - I never thought this album would be as good, this has put hotel costes back up there on my list.

Well Well Well

Slow, rythmic tunes grow and flow effortlessly over you .. perfect late night fact perfect at any time of day when you want to take a small step back and relax
