Album Review

I Am the Greatest is the unusual but intriguing album from Dublin, Ireland's A House. In places melodious with a bent twist; in others, dissonant with an arresting groove. Picture the Velvet Underground nursed on Celtic roots. Highlights: the title track's dissection of the price of fame and "Endless Art," essentially a roll call of dead.

Customer Reviews

Thanks itunes for providing me with one of my favourite albums from my uni days

I first bought this album on cassette when it came out back in 92, when I was in Uni and it was one of my favourite albums during my uni years. I bought it after seeing the video for 'Endless Art' on the chart show. Also managed to catch the band live in Cardiff Uni and chatted to the band backstage after the gig (losing my jacket in the cloakroom in the process). Listening to this album some fifteen years later really brings back good memories and the album hasn't dated at all. To say this album is varied is an understatement. I bought the final 2 albums that followed this one, but neither came close to the level reached by this album. An album by an underrated band at its peak. My highlights are 'You're too young', 'Endless Art', 'I am afraid', 'Take it easy on me', 'I wanted too much' and 'I am the greatest'
