Interesting first track

A lot to digest from the first track. It is probably one of the more upbeat songs they've created. Interesting use of sampling incorporated into the song. Jamie xx makes his present felt on the track, which is something that you never really see on an xx track. It was very nice to see. I hope we hear more guitars on the album as their not really present. It is a grower though and I am enjoying it a lot more after a few listens. I'll definitely be listening to the finished product that's for sure.

This is much different from their two previous albums but this change is amazing, track 3 Lips gave me the coldest chills in a long time, i'm in love ❤️

Following on from the ‘In Colour’ album Jamie xx produced alongside his The xx colleagues comes this newer, fresher and revamped xx album sequel. It’s more upbeat, colourful, and passionate. They have taken what they worked on with the ‘In Colour’ album and pushed it further with the same gentle lyrics and using louder sounds. They have come out of a shell with this album, they are sure of themselves and what they want to make. Romy’s voice is as perfect as ever with Oliver’s voice always providing the best foundation and accompaniment to Romy’s more graceful gentleness. The arrangements are beautiful, the production on highest form, and the tracks are standouts with several just so damn arresting to the ears. It harks back to the first and second album while remaining totally present.

Captivating and cool, the group cites influences that run the gamut from R&B (Aaliyah and Rihanna) to classic alternative rock (the Cure and the Pixies). Built around the duel vocals of Croft and Sim, the group's signature brand of moody, soulful indie rock first appeared on the public radar in early 2009 with...
