Year of the Wolf is British singer/songwriter Nerina Pallot’s fourth full-length studio album, although it is the first to be released on a major label since the 2006 release of Fires. Pallot was pregnant during much of the album’s production, which affected the recording, as it made it harder for Pallot to sing normally. The first single from the album, "Put Your Hands Up," was originally written for Kylie Minogue’s 2010 album, Aphrodite., Rovi
I'm a big fan of Nerina Pallot but for me this album has gone awry, mainly due to the change in production which feels like it's taken priority over displaying the quality of the songwriting. I cant help but feel that the songs have become mudded where as the the production on the previous two albums appeared less keen but somehow seemed to make the music sparkle. Like taking an EQ and setting it all mid frequency, It's all become too smooth and characterless which doesn't offend but becomes rather forgetful. I dont dispute Nerina's talent and there are some undeniable classics on Fires and the Graduate, but for me ..it's not gone the way I wanted it too. If your new to Nerina Pallot, Fires especially but also The Graduate are well worth the money.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!
Yet another beautiful album from Nerina her voice is incredible just as good as adele's hope she finally makes it as big as all her fans know it's been a long time coming for this criminally overlooked artist!!!
Another album to add to my collection of Nerina Pallot tracks. I implore you to buy this album, it's one of those rare albums where you are hooked from the first listen.
I can tell this album is going to be on repeat for months to come. The lead single Put Your Hands Up should have been a summer hit, but it was my personal summer anthem regardless.
Nerina deserves worldwide recognition and due to the UK's seemingly disastrous taste in music this hasn't happened.
Buy this album and you will not regret it, and maybe you will like it enough to invest in some of Nerina's older albums, which are equally brilliant.
If you're looking for meaningful beautiful lyrics paired with an angellic voice then this is for you.
