Album Review

Mosquito is the fourth studio album from New York's indie three-piece Yeah Yeah Yeahs. With influences ranging from psychedelic rock to reggae, the follow-up to 2009's It's Blitz! is full of Karen O's passionate, compelling vocal work, while Nick Zinner and Brian Chase's guitar-and-drums combination sounds as urgent and telepathic as on their 2003 debut, Fever to Tell.

No No Nos

First three albums were really good,"show your bones" is still a big favourite. So what has gone wrong, the best track is the single, which i'm not that keen on anyway, the rest of the album is much like the end of the single, just a tuneless mess.
Track two is dreadful,it sounds as though they didn't have a clue as to what they were doing, so it is a tuneless durge.Track 7 is just about ok but i'm really scraping the barrel. One of the worst albums i've heard this year & thier weakest by a country mile
Incredibly poor,very very disappointed.

One of the must buy albums of the year

Having always been put off listening to the YYYs due to their rather silly name, I caught them on Jools Holland show last month - how stupid I have been, one of the most original sounding bands since Primal Scream in their pomp. A breath of fresh air, edgy, bouncy, original, guitar based indie rock - I love it..

The cover is absolutely awful, and the single 'Sacrilege' starts ok, but ends in a nasty mess. I certainly don't think this album is going to live up to ITS BLITZ! or any of their previous great albums altogether.

Discovered in the wake of the Strokes' popularity and the subsequent garage rock revival, New York's art punk trio the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are comprised of singer Karen O, guitarist Nicolas Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. O met Chase at Ohio's Oberlin College and met Zinner through friends after she transferred to NYU. Zinner and O formed the band in 2000; originally, they were a folky duo called Unitard, but they went electric after being inspired by Ohio's legendary avant punk scene. After the drummer...
