iTunes Review

On their sophomore album, the Script explores the ecstasies and agonies of love, with the emphasis clearly on the latter. Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue radiates a bruised sort of charisma, combining the sweet strains of a balladeer with a hip-hop artist’s seductive sense of flow. Romantic dysfunction is the theme of such yearning tracks as “Exit Wounds”, “Nothing” and “Long Gone and Moved On”, with “For the First Time” and the title tune offering hope that love can ultimately triumph. O’Donoghue gives one of his best performances on “Walk Away”, a good-girl-loves-bad-boy tune with an ear-snagging chorus. The Script rises to a heroic peak on the anthemic “This = Love”, a salute to everyday compassion and sacrifice. Marc Sheehan’s nuanced guitar work — ranging from Edge-like atmospherics to sturdy rhythm guitar lines — and Glen Power’s sinewy drumming keep the tracks crisp and assertive. Science & Faith combines precision musicianship with heart-bearing emotion — a winning formula.

Science and faith review

The script maintain their signature sound from their first album but put it to new, well crafted songs. The script are not only great songwriters and musicians, they are established producers and this shows with a very slick but heartfelt production feel to the album. Infusions of hip hop rap into pop rock songs is signature script and gives this album edge and relevance. Lead singer danny's voice may be a carbon copy of sting's but it adds a gravely soul and a soft side to the hard edged guitar riffs as he ohs and aha over many of the instrumental portions of the album. Standout tracks include opening track 'you wont feel a thing', a guitar led rocky grower, 'this = love', ballad 'nothing', title track 'science and faith ' and the final track of the album 'exit wounds'. But fillers, the rest of the tracks are not, melancholy lyrics combine with guitar and piano textures which gradually evolve as each track gps on eventually launching into a big chrorus. The Script will not be to everyones taste but they do a fabulous job of making rockpop music and talent relevant. Maybe their singles won't beat Katy perry or Alexandra Burke in the charts but they will manage to cling on to a top ten spot in a music world dominated by x factor winners and artists who, let's face it, couldn't write a good song if it walked right in front of them.

Thank GOD they're back!!

Genuinely LOVE this album!! So pleased they're back again!! :D

The Script actually have talent!

This album proves how amazing this band actually is, their previous album too. I love their sound and unlike all of these over-hyped pop singers like miley cyrus and demi lovato, the script produce amazing music and their lyrics actually mean something :)

A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Mark Sheehan and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. The two musicians had previously performed together in Mytown, an Irish-based boy band that enjoyed moderate success at home but failed to generate international acclaim. After the group disbanded, Sheehan and O'Donoghue spent several years in Los Angeles, where they worked as producers alongside the likes of Teddy Riley, the Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. They later relocated...
