Album Review

As compilations go, Universal's two-CD Greatest Hits and More might be the best sampling of Engelbert Humperdinck's work that has yet appeared. All of his best-loved hits are here (including "Release Me," "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize," "Quando Quando Quando," and "There Goes My Everything"), but there are also a few extra tidbits that should keep even longtime fans happy with the program — most notably, four brand new songs. "Can't You See," a Humperdinck original, appears here for the first time, as well as "Totally Amazing," which he co-wrote with the help of his daughter and son-in-law. Also appearing for the first time on record is the touching ballad "Columns of Grey" (which features New Zealand's Christchurch Choir) and another new song, "Jerusalem," making this collection a little more desirable to fans who, no doubt, already have much of Engelbert's "hits" material. ~ J. Brilliant Easy Listening

An excellent album to sit down and listen to, or sing along with. All of us over 30 know the first disc and most of us under 50 know the second one. Something for everyone. Brilliant!!!

Just incredible

A singer without doubt, his voice is majestic and like vintage wine, just gets better with age.

Ultrasmooth balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck was often billed as "the King of Romance," and for millions of fans around the world, he more than lived up to that title. Despite the strange name and the latter-day ads hawking his music on late-night TV, Humperdinck was one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around, a sensitive lyric interpreter with excellent vocal technique and a three-and-a-half-octave vocal range. During his heyday in the late '60s and early '70s, Humperdinck cultivated...
