Magic tunes by a lyrical genius

I listen to this album a lot. At first I wasn't sure of Bell X1, I wasn't sure if there was enough soul in them, I couldn't connect. However once you’re really listening, Paul Nonnan's lyrics come alive. From the Chris De Burgh reference in "Alphabet Soup", the Holy souvenirs from Knock in "Next to you" and the heart breaking wouldn't swap the pain, "In every sunflower". Paul writes in a charming, witty, compassionate, typically Irish way. I was lucky enough to meet Paul at the recent "Electric Picnic" festival in Ireland after he played a mind blowing solo acoustic set on a small stage in front of only maybe 1500 people, who like me sang, cheered, and cried there way through an hour few will ever forget. This band deserve to be up there with the big boys, so get in now, before your mates, buy this album and you will feel the soul of Bell X1. Thanks again Paul for "Sunflower"

One Of the best albums ever

So how you describe it .... a sonic feast for the ears, a delight, an album that every song is like a 5 star rating. This album is so feel good but saying that some of the tracks are like totally heartbreaking. Bell x1 created a master piece that the songs are lyrical genius and the melodies remain with you. I found this album by accident and it's been one of the most seridipitious finds ever. The quality of each song is truly awesome. I can't pick a favourite from this album as I adore all of the tracks equally but if i was forced to do so the first 5 tracks are superb. This is a band that has more depth to their material and lyricals than most of their contempories.

Breathless

'Time pulls a face...' when I listen to this album. It is a beautifully crafted and subtly accomplished peice of work. This is the kind of album that makes you want to meet the person who inspired the music. Eve, The Apple Of My Eye is a highlight but I'll See Your Heart And Raise You Mine will leave you breathless. You must hear this album.

Biography

Formed: 1999 in Dublin, Ireland

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Second only to U2 as Ireland's most popular rock band, Bell X1 crafts a tight, melodic pop sound that calls to mind pre-electronic Radiohead and the more sedate side of Coldplay. Having recorded albums with the likes of Nick Seymour (Crowded House) and Roger Béchirian (Elvis Costello), the band is best known for its ability to craft infectious, durable, radio-friendly hooks with strong production values. Although officially formed in Celbridge, County Kildare, in 1999, the group's roots stretch back...
