iTunes Review

Jack and Meg White brought garage rock back to the masses when major label V2 Records picked up their third album, White Blood Cells, from tiny Sympathy for the Record Industry. Perhaps, indie production values and all, this was just too good even for the mainstream to ignore? Could be. Much has been made of the pair's simple guitar-drums lineup, red-white color scheme and willingness to foment gossip about whether they're brother and sister or a formerly married couple. But the real story here, more even than Jack's Page-damaged guitar heroics, is the songwriting. It would be worth talking about even if these were just excellent pastiches of blues and punk, but Jack White's talent extends far beyond that. These are the stories of an eccentric but grounded guy making what he can of love and life. Obviously, a lot of people could relate.

Woo! Yeh!

This charmingly smple album is so very good becuase of the number of ways it uses the sparse two instruments: drums and guitar. Jack voice blisters with puppy-dog love and other times with stabbing venom. Ah...stripped down rock is so very sweet. Well, wehn the white stripes do it it is. Download: Dead Laves and the Dirty Ground, Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With a Girl, The Same Boy You've Always Known, We're gonna Be Friends

How could you deny this album of its 100% pure music expertise? Well? Thats right, you cant! The White Stripes are one of my personal favorite bands and its albums like White Blood Cells that really show off their talent, bow obviously anyone that knows The White Stripes would know and think that there best song is Seven Nations Army, now don't get me wrong, its good! Like any other of their songs, but it doesn't show of the talent of Fell In Love With A Girl or that completely different Hotel Yorba. Which is why this album is the 5 star I gave it. Tunes To Look Our For : Fell In Love With A Girl, Hotel Yorba, Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground & Were Going To Be Friends.

This - NOT ELEPHANT is the stripes best album

Most of my friends who like the White Stripes say that Elephant is their best album, I disagree. Although there is no Seven Nation Army on this i still think this has their best set of songs Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With a Girl and We're Going to be Friends are all excellent and Little Room is an underated gem

Formed: 1997 in Detroit, MI

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The White Stripes formed on Bastille Day in 1997, aiming to create simple, vigorous rock & roll with little more than Meg White's percussion and Jack White's guitar-and-vocal attack. Meg's drumming was deliberate and straightforward, while Jack's formidable guitar skills paid homage to garage rock, blues, and punk. A former drummer for the Detroit-based country outfit Goober & the Peas, he also displayed an affinity for American folk music, and the White Stripes took strength in the varied interests...
