Album Review

Produced by Mirko Schaffer, Die Wahrheit Ubers Lugen is the fourth solo album from Die Arzte vocalist and guitarist Farin Urlaub, and the first studio release to also credit his touring band, Racing Team. The follow-up to Livealbum of Death features 11 tracks of his trademark punk rock alongside a bonus mini-album, Ponyhof, on which experiments with reggae and ska. Released in 2008, it includes the singles "Nichimgriff," "Niemals," "Krieg," and "Zu Heiss." ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

It's not often anything sung in German outside Kraftwerk really appeals to me, but this is outstanding! Pretty good production and darned noisy, i've been listening to too much soft stuff recently coz the noisey stuff was just boring of late. We've got Punk in here, some Queens of the Stone Age, and some mad Raggae stuff too, great combo! Pakistan sounds like a single if it ain't already. Well done chaps. Oh, and in case anybody thinks my username makes me a member of this band, it doesn't. I was in Imperial Racing Club, british power-popsters. Hey, nice plug!

People say that English is the best language to write music in, I would normally disagree with that remark (Manu Chao, four languages!) But this is terrible, it's trying to be stadium rock, it's trying to be Foo Fighters or U2 but they're crap anyway. I can't see anything different here, and to be honest this is making a terrible impression of German music which might be quite good. I mean, what would Bach think?

Niemals is probably my fav rock song
