Could be better?

When I heard Alex sing 'Imagine' on fame acadamy the hairs on the back of my neck stood up - it was truly brilliant. Maybe that is why this album is a little bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, its good, cleverly crafted and with songs that allow Alex's voice (which is strong and powerful but somehow manages to have a hint of vulnerability about it) to come to the fore. If I hadn't heard her live version of 'Imagine' maybe I'd be raving about this, but...

Brilliant up and coming artist.

I cannot agree completely with A. I can see his point, I did not have the advantage of hearing 'Imagine' live but heard it on a supermarket CD stall - and I thought it was brilliant; and that comes from an ardent Beatles fan (in his 60s). I would state that I think it was as good as the original. Mad world is also superb. Everybody hurts excellent. If you are reading this Alex please do not give up on the art as I look forward to hearing more from you - and I look forward to hearing your new album, when I can find it!!!

Better than expected

Originally wasn't too hopeful about this one, but after listening to previews I thought I'd give it a go. Some excellent covers, and great sing along tunes. So much better than I thought it would be, great to listen to when driving to work, makes me forget about the crap day I'm about to have!!
