And i was starting to think jazzanova had lost it. This collection is absolutely stunning and truly eclectic. Absolutely 100% good good!!

A welcome return to form

After the decidedly lukewarm reaction to Jazzanova's last outing ("In Between"), the Berlin masters return with a rich, eclectic and often bewitching array of tracks. Not all the material is original, although the older Sonar material is well chosen ("Just a Lil' Lovin'") and ("D-D-D-Dance") spring to mind. Standout tracks include the Philly-esque "Theme from Belle et Fou" and the mesmerising "Siren's Call". Absolutely love it.

Forget crazy, this is just beautiful

This album is an astonishingly beautifully-produced masterpiece - although created as a soundtrack to the Berlin show of the same name, "Belle et Fou" is just as satisfying and invigorating to listen to at home, blending funk, disco, soul and electronica with Jazzanova's trademark punchy energy and subliminally mellow jazz harmonies. As well as providing many blindingly energetic moments ('This Is The Place!', 'Theme from "Belle Et Fou"', 'Ice'), many of the album's golden moments come in the form of the more downtempo, langushing tracks (the entrancing 'The Sirens' Call', Clara Hill's soulful rendition of 'That Night', and the absolutely uplifting 'Behold These Days (Berlin '74)'). Yet all the tracks on this album are special, contributing to a uniquely rewarding whole - a quality record.
