Great Songs and loadsa attitude!!

I first caught this band play live around 2 years ago in North London. They really stood out with a great bunch of songs and an real energetic show. So i was pleased to find this on itunes and then report it's a real gem!! If you like punky surf guitar delivered with attitude you'll love this. My fave tracks are the Movie Star, Common Prayer, Big Black Sack and Knucklebones. It's hard to say what this sounds like but there's echos of classic 70's punk - Ramones/ Clash, mid 60's Garage and even Johnny Cash style Country Rockabilly. Check out the opening track Movie Star and you'll get the idea. It's great to hear a descent English band that really rocks!!! Probably the best album i've bought this year - Buy it!!!!

Grown men… playing real rock’n’roll. Yes please!

For nearly a decade the WitchDoktors have been honing their SuperPunkRock sound, drawing on their 70’s Punk Rock upbringing and mixing it up into a rock'n'roll cocktail of their fave 50’s Rockin’ Trash, a sprinkling of 60’s Psyche-Out Garage, a twist of country and some godamming loud geetars! Featuring Planet Andy on Lead Howl and Gibson Les Paul Geetar, Mr Tony Major on Gretsch and Gibson Geetars, Zig C on Fender Precision Bass and Pinball Geoff on Drums and general chaos, this new release features 13 instant classics. From out there rockers Movie Star, Faithless and Told You To Go to the twangtastic garage-country murder balladry of Big Black Sack to the surf rock instro-mentality of Knucklebones and the r-r-r-rockabilly infused Common Prayer and Swamp Baby, this long player is a sure fire hit ... and the sleeve's purdey sweet too! But hey... now I hear you asking "I wanna feel more like the WitchDoktors". Well the answer my friend is simple...go read some comic books, watch some horror movies, play some rock'n'roll, getchasome tattoos, fire up the motorcycles, get the chicks on board, chug back dem beers, light a fire, look at the stars, toke that reefer madness and relax in the safety of your own paranoia - You KNOW it makes sense!

Met lead singer on holidays

We recently met Andy on holiday and whilst we were talking about music he mentioned he was in a band, The Witchdoktors. We asked him if he had any stuff on his Ipod and he gave us this new album to listen to. Have to say the album which is influenced by the The Clash, Straycats and Johnny Cash to mention a few is very good. I usually need a few listens to new albums to get into them but this hit the right notes immediately. Would recommend listening to some of the tracks on Itunes and if you like any of the bands above you may even buy it like I did.
