iTunes Editors' Notes

Ashlee Simpson is nostalgic for an era she’s too young to remember first-hand. Born in 1985, the younger sister of reality-TV (and oh yeah, music) superstar Jessica is steeped in the ‘80s heyday of Joan Jett and Pat Benatar. Like her debut Autobiography, I Am Me plays like a missive from a talented Valley girl’s bedroom. One song (“Burning Up”) borrows its title from an MTV-favorite track from the first Madonna album, while another, “Dancing Alone,” takes verbal cues from Billy Idol and the Cure. The strongest cut, “Boyfriend,” is the kind of bratty snipe that Jett would’ve been proud to snarl in her commercial prime. Given Jett’s ties to the golden age of manufactured pop (her cover of “Crimson and Clover” in particular), Simpson is more closely related to this ‘80s superstar than to her own blood sibling.

DOING IT FOR THE ROCK CHICKS!!!

i have to say i am arriving a bit late to the jessica simpson's little sister, having ignored her first album i wasnt excatly what you'd call egaer to hear this one, but just one listen to the first single 'boyfriend' and i was hooked and couldnt wait to buy this album...and i was right to be so excited as it is fantastic, all the songs here are hits and her voice sounds amazing on all of them, the stand outs for me are 'L.O.V.E', 'beautifully broken', 'catch me when i fall', 'dancing alone' and 'burning up'...her voice and style of music might very well be diffrent for her older sisters but thats not to say that you shoud'nt give this album a go, its a real treat to hear someone and something so fresh...oh and her first album isnt that bad either!!!

Americans cant review things

She has done it again but this time its way better .If you have read the american bad reviews theyre not about the music just about her and her programme.Everyone should have this album in there home.she is one of my favorite along with kanye west, black eyed peas, foo fighters, travis, Artic monkeys and hilary duff.

Surprisingly Decent!

Okay I am not your average Ashlee Simpson fan, infact being a 20 year old guy I wasn't expecting to like this album one bit, I mean Pieces of Me was alright but LaLa wasn't. Anyway I got round to listening to this thanks to my sister and I have to say it surprised me, tracks like Boyfriend, LOVE, Burning Up, I Am Me, Kicking and Screaming and Fall In Love With Me are instantly enjoyable - more in your face than the older and much worse album. The other tracks take a few listens but I still enjoyed them, the only track I tend to skip would be Catch Me When I Fall as I find it rather boring. So I would say give this album a chance I think it will surprise you.

She might be the younger sister of superstar Jessica Simpson, but don't confuse their tastes or style when it comes to music. Waco, Texas-born Ashlee Simpson always loved music. At age 11 she was the youngest person ever admitted into the School of American Ballet. At 14 she moved with her parents and older sister to Los Angeles and spent time dancing in Jessica's stage show.
