Maybe It Was Magic !!!

With this LP Agnetha went further afield and called in Peter Cetera. The collaboration works better as the production is better than the previous 'Eyes Of A Woman'. Again she lays down some beautiful vocals on the LP' s highlights 'Maybe It Was Magic', 'I Stand Alone' & 'If You Need Somebody Tonight'. Some tracks don't work as well but with her vocals she makes them still sound better than most other vocalists could. The LP feels more complete as a whole and is very enjoyable.

Agnetha's last and best album

In 1986, Agnetha Faltskog was in Sweden advertising her duet with Crooner Ola Hanarksson. At a television show, they were performing the same day as American Supergroup Chicago, and it didn't take long for the lead singer Peter Cetera to spot Agnetha backstage. They hit it off immediately, and they became good friends after this meeting. Within a week, Cetera asked Agnetha to do an album with him, but she said no, but Cetera wasn't happy. 6 months later, after a thousand requests, Agnetha said yes and during the months of June-August 1987, the album was produced over in America. This trip was very hard for Agnetha as her children stayed back in Sweden, and she promised never to do it again. Agnetha went to America with 10 own compositions, but none of them made the album. In November 1987, Agnetha started a world campaign to advertise the single. The advertising only happened in places were Agnetha could get to by car/ship/train, but she worked hard to get her new album out to the public. She famously appeared on Wogan, where she admitted all the truths behind ABBA's split and her lovelife. When the album came out, it got mixed reviews. It charted in most major countries in the world (72 in UK and 55 in US), and it was an overall success. I wish Agnetha would have included some of her own compositions on this album. She is a great song writer (she knocked the Beatles of the charts with her own song in 1965 when she was 15), and it's sad. Although today in 2005, Agnetha's popularity is taking a fall. Her last album My Colouring Book last year only contained covers, (she admitted that the only reason she did it was to get over the fact that her mother killed herself) and she needed money. The last thing we heard from her was last June when she upsetted ABBA fans at Mamma Mia by being late and dismissive. But will Agnetha record again? Hope so, because this album is her most recent with new work, and it's nearly 20 years old! Otherwise, this album is great, but we want more!

Agneta sings a Bucks Fizz song!!!

Interesting that many people consider Bucks Fizz to be like Abba!!... Here Agneta sings a song released on a Bucks Fizz Album a year earlier called Love in a World gone mad- lead vocals by Cheryl Baker. .... There are a couple of Fizz versions too - the better version was only found more recently (although still recorded before Agneta's version) with harps, and duet vocals with Cheryl Baker and Shelley Preston. Great Track. Agneta's version aint bad either!

Although she had made a name for herself as a solo artist in Sweden, Agnetha Fältskog will always be best known as one-fourth of ABBA, one of the most commercially successful and internationally beloved pop acts of all time. Born on April 5, 1950, Fältskog was encouraged to pursue her love of music from an early age and was already performing with two school friends as the Cambers by the time she was a teen. Leaving school at 15 to pursue her music, Fältskog soon found herself singing with Bernt...
