iTunes Review

Co-produced by Chris Goss and Bob Rock, Choice of Weapon is the best-sounding Cult album in years, reminding fans why Electric and Sonic Temple established the group as a hard rock juggernaut after it had started as an alternative goth group. Drummer John Tempesta and bassist Chris Wyse have settled into their roles, while guitarist Billy Duffy proves he hasn't lost one lick of taste or execution; he brings a wall of guitars that still manage to slink around. "Honey from a Knife" is an immediate concert staple, with a catchy, driving chorus providing the same sort of catharsis that The Cult delivered back in the late '80s. "The Wolf" adds a few quotes from the band's own "She Sells Sanctuary" while evoking the bluesy vibe of early-'70s Robin Trower. Ian Astbury sings with great soul; he's confident and comfortable in his role as an elder hard rock statesman, bringing authority to everything he touches. "Life > Death" throws a touch of James Dewar–meets–David Bowie vocals into the band's grand performance.

Great album this has been played on my ipod soild for 2 days. The Cult are back with a bang. CFFC

A future classic.

Make no mistake, this album rocks hard ! I thought The Cult were past their best and would never rise to the heights of the previous, and now classic three albums of, Dreamtime, Love and,Electric. Those three, back to back, eclectic and diverse masterpieces which most bands have never equalled, will live on in music for years to come.

And so we come to this new offering, Choice of Weapon, and it is Fantastic !

Over time this album will be prove to be up there alongside the three mentioned above, and that is the highest praise I can give, as The Cult have always trod their own path, and their counterparts have never got close.

Brilliant Album

The Cult are back.......Honey from a Knife and The Wolf are classics

Genre: Rock

Following a succession of name and stylistic changes, the Cult emerged in 1984 as one of England's leading heavy metal revivalists. Picking up the pseudo-mysticism and Native American obsessions of the Doors, the guitar orchestrations of Led Zeppelin, and the three-chord crunch of AC/DC, while adding touches of post-punk goth rock, the Cult gained a dedicated following in their native Britain with mid-'80s singles like "She Sells Sanctuary" before breaking into the American metal market in the late...
