John Howard's Opus

A wonderful addition to the John Howard cannon of work, beautiful piano based songs with multi-tracked vocals that take you on a wonderful journey into the mind of a man who is up rooting his life and moving away and the joy and uncertainty that brings. My own personal Highlights are "Notes To Self", "In Whose House", & "Miss Ashton's Disappointment" although the whole album flows as one whole body of work.

So Gorgeous

I appreciate that iTuners often given a 5 star review to an album just because it’s the latest release from their favourite band and the review is a way of sharing that thrill but in this case I an awarding a 5 star review because I would genuinely like more people to listen to this artist. John Howard has been in this game for 30 years now and his experience shines through this album. This is songwriting of an extraordinarily rich quality with subject matters that can frequently move you to tears and beautiful musical arrangements. I can’t recommend this highly enough. And just in case that ’30 years’ remark in any way puts you off please consider the quality of albums released by Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and Neil Diamond at similar points in their careers.
