Spellbinding!

My first exposure to Melody Gardot was on my morning journey to work some months ago, when the song 'Goodnite' was being played on the radio. I was immediately caught by the intelligent and hauntingly seductive vocals. I had to find the rest of the record and having done so I have been captivated by its quiet power ever since. Elements of a number of genres such as blues, jazz and folk combine to create a truly remarkable debut album. I cannot praise it enough. It is simply spellbinding.

Love Her!

How does she manage to cross jazz with Folk?? I Love Her Classiness, and that sax is so sexy!!! xx

Just plain brilliant!

This is an album for cosy nights in, for moments of melancholy, and to accompany that large glass of red wine after a hard day. Melody's vocals are beautiful - breathy and seductive. The music is measured - sparse without being minimal. The album is a sheer joy, whether jazz is your thing, or just great music. "Some lessons", given Melody's own experiences, is especially moving. My favourite track is "Love Me Like A River Does". Play it loud, and listen to every breath, and every hammer hitting the string on the piano.
