Album Review

While Game of Thrones is normally a pretty intense show, without spoiling anything, its third season was easily its most gut-wrenching outing. Serving as the backdrop to all the intrigue, mayhem, betrayal, and battle is Game of Thrones: Music from the HBO Series, Season 3. Composed by Ramin Djawadi, who also scored the first two season of the fantasy series, the show's soundtrack will transport fans of the show to some of the most shocking and surprising events with a musical tour, allowing fans to escape to Westeros and beyond by just putting on a pair of headphones.

Great soundtrack for an even greater show

The soundtrack for Season 2 definitely builds upon that of Season 1 - while the epic 'Main Theme' remains constant, many tracks add even more to the grand scale of the show while at the same time effectively capturing the emotions of particular parts of the Season 2 story - 'Pay The Iron Price' is an especially good example, encapsulating all of the drama and horror of Theon's taking of Winterfell. 'The Rains Of Castamere' deserves a special mention; since this is a song actually found in the books, the fact that it has been produced for the show adds even more to the value of the soundtrack.

A Game of Thrones-Stunning music for a cracking series

I loved this album so much, especially the tracks Mother of Dragons and the rains of Castamere, but to be honest the music is so damn good its hard to single a particular track out. i cant wait till until the series comes onto itunes uk, i have just ordered a collectors set blueray of season 1, its out in November Lol roll on season 3...Winter is coming and seven hells it better not get canceled lol

You won't be disappointed

Great album, like the first. I find it's the best way to get back into my 'GOT/ SOIAF' mood while patiently awaiting the next book, it's a long wait so thankfully they're beautiful soundtracks that never seem to get tiring.
