Velvet Hearts Album and Live

I have seem the Velvet Hearts live a couple of times and the Frog and Wicket Eversley, where they play regularly. They are absolutely amazing live, with a really full sound and an enthusiasm for their playing that makes for a very entertaining evening. Everybody ends up singing along towards the end of the evening, despite the fact that the band play mostly their own stuff, which I think speaks highly of the quality of their songwriting. Good luck guys with the album. You deserve to sell a lot of copies.

Fantastic First Full Album

The Velvet Hearts are a great bluesy-rock group with some soulful lyrics. They have a refreshingly good sound and play very well, and the song-writing is great. The slower numbers have meaning and are sung with immense passion, some true master musicians at work. If you are short on cash, 'Talk', 'Be There Anyway' and 'Roadhouse' sum up the album nicely. Once again, brilliant sound and a refreshing change from other bands trying to make it big. Also, grab their free songs off of their website, they add even more to their awesome sound.

Out of this World

Just when you thought you had heard every six-piece British acoustic-rock band going, The Velvet Hearts emerge with their eagerly awaited debut album. Choc full of subtle moments and beautiful melodies, the harmonies which are created in this 40-minute debut are lined with flashes of Train and early Elbow. The highlights are the title track 'Into the World' and 'Be There Anyway' and includes fan favourite 'Serotonin'. Every song sounds sincere and there is even the added bonus of finding out that when this band want to rock out a bit, they can cut the mustard with their own brand of barnstomer (see 'Talk'). Great LP well worth the few years wait.
