Saw a video...

Saw Themata video on Scuzz and bought this.I started to look around for more as this album is just brilliant.You will like the whole thing guaranteed.Sound Awake has the same level of craftsmanship and the musicianship is second to none.Truly original style nevermind the TOOL references.
Saw them live at Nottingham Rock City and they really can reproduce this effortlessly-will see again.
Some early material isn't on i-Tunes and songs like The Only Way are a must listen.Try MySpace page.
Anyway check the clips and you will not be disappointed.


this album is fantastic in every sence of the word, one classic after another. I woulod recoomend this album to anyone who wanted something a bit new, and very exciting. 5 stars all the way

Larger than Lifelike album from Karnivool

From 'Cote' to 'Change, pt 1', 'Themata' is an album worthy of much praise. The progressive line taken by Karnivool, and the similarities to bands such as 'Tool', are blended with original ideas, cracking riffs and a fantastic listening experience. An album that is listenable to over and over again - but may not be to everyone's liking. A solid 4-star album.

Karnivool started out as a high school band in 1997, playing parties around Perth focusing on covers of Nirvana and Carcass with a handful of original songs thrown into the mix. After a year of this, singer Ian Kenny decided to change the focus to purely original material, getting rid of the original bandmembers -- who had been called "a bunch of clowns" around Perth, hence the name Karnivool -- and recruiting guitarists Drew Goddard and Mark Hosking, bass player Jon Stockman, and drummer Ray Hawking...
