Dark, dark, dark

Not as immediately enjoyable as their previous albums - in fact not particularly enjoyable at all - and sounding increasingly like latter day Dylan and occasionally Tom Waits. Nonetheless this is supposed to be an important album conceived around the theme of the hopelessness of 9/11 living and Mark Twain's novella 'The Last Resurrection' and is probably some kind of slow growing thing if you're prepared to invest the time. Personally, I don't know whther I need these folk to tell me life is dark - and I'll give it another week.

These guys are the best around at the moment, and i personally think their best stuff is as good as Dylan- and i'm a huge dylan fan. The songwriting is incredible and gives you a feel of small town American life like no album has ever done. This album is on a par with their other two and the stand out track for me is "boy from lawrence county".

They've done it again!!!

Another classic album within a year of the last, the best band around no one comes close, ambulance man blows me away,i just cant get the album off the ipod!!!
