A really interesting Navel...

This is my second review of a Peter Gabriel album (New Blood, the first) and I remain a huge fan. I get that here Peter is ‘...fascinated by the subtleties…’ etc. and some of this music is extremely haunting, shining new, mostly sparse, light on classic songs. If you want to listen to someone ’navel gazing’, I can’t think of anyone better to choose than Peter Gabriel but for me, that is what this album feels like - it’s a really interesting navel- but navel gazing all the same! I’ve really liked the ‘something borrowed’ phase but would really appreciate something new!
