iTunes Editors' Notes

The British Invasion for the new millennium isn't coming from England, but from inside the United States, where bands like the Killers emulate decades bygone with wonky synths and peppy, glam melodies that recall the days of Bowie, New Order, and Duran Duran. Ditched by his synth-pop group Blush Response, singer-keyboardist Brandon Flowers teamed with guitarist Dave Keuning in the Las Vegas sun and within a weekhad penned "Mr. Brightside," the band's first single and a musical blueprint for their debut album. Combining lyrically ambitious narratives — "Jenny Was AFriend of Mine" and "Midnight Show" confront murder, "Andy, You're a Star" a stalker — with musically lush and anthemic riffs, the Killers instill their music with a sense of urgent drama and cinematic intrigue. "All These Things That I've Done" adds a gospel choir, whereas the single"Somebody Told Me" settles for an irrepressible chorus that sounds like the Human League discovering heavy metal in an after-hours leather bar.

No Words Do It Justice...

This album is one the best investments I have ever made. The early Killers stuff has this amazing energy to it and these songs are absolutely incredible live! Mr. Brightside and Somebody Told Me are obvious hits but then, Smile Like You Mean It and All These Things That I've Done have the energy and depth that only The Killers can achieve. I love all of these songs and they give me goosebumps every time I listen to them....!! Seriously, if you have heard other stuff from The Killers and liked it then listen to this, even if you don't enjoy their new stuff listen to this I can pretty much assure you that you will love it. What's not to love? Synths, Great Lyrics, Great Music and Brandon Flowers :)

THIS ALBUM IS THE THEME TUNE TO MY LIFE

In 2004, 4 guys from Las Vegas smashed their way into the music industry with stunning, super, sexy debut Hot Fuss. 11 tracks of pure talent rolled into a complete rollercoaster ride of stylish funky and new indie/alternative, with the catchiest choruses, spine-tingling synths and the most magical vocals of one Brandon Flowers. 5 years later, they are still my favourite band of all time, and I can't see myself going off them any time soon. Hot Fuss is by far The Killers' best album. Every song is an utter delight to listen to - after 5 years of constant replaying, I still get chills over the warming vocals of Believe Me Natalie, the intoduction of synths to Smile Like You Mean It, the amazing, spectacular refrain of "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" in the wonderful All These Things That I've Done and, of course, the outrageously amazing guitar riff and stunningly perfect lyrics and melody in the outstanding Mr Brightside (which is my favourite Killers song of all time). Nothing touches this album. Full stop. Despite the fact that The Killers have experimented a little with their sound, which isn't a bad thing, I have immensly enjoyed the rock-based Sam's Town and disco-influenced Day and Age, not to mention their B-Sides and rarities collection Sawdust, (it's better than the utter rubbish excuse for music we are getting nowadays - LISTEN TO THE KILLERS, PEOPLE! THEY MAKE REAL MUSIC! None of that Lady Gaga rubbish here, thank you) but I don't think the Killers will be able to ever top Hot Fuss. Hot Fuss is not only my favourite album of all time, but I really and truly believe that this was, is, and ever will be, the best debut album that any band have ever released. Every track is utter gold. This is album that everyone should have in their home. If, by some horrible chance, you don't have this gorgeous masterpiece (gasp) then BUY IT NOW. I can guarentee that you will be playing it to your grave. Thank you Brandon, Mark, Ronnie and Dave for supplying the world with this incredible, outstanding, sexy album. I will always love you guys no matter what you do. Rock on !!!!!!!

Hot Fuss

Hot Fuss is one of the best indie albums that has been released and is The Killers best album they have produced. The best songs on the album are Mr. Brightside. Somebody Told Me, All These Things I have Done. Jenny You're A Friend Of Mine. Smile Like You Mean It and On Top. The thing i don't like about this album is the remixes, i know that many people like to hear their favourite songs in a different style, i do most of the time, but these remixes are not to my taste. Overall Hot Fuss is a must own album if you like rock or indie. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine - great intro to the album - 9/10 Mr. Brightside - an indie classic - 10/10 Smile Like You Mean It - awesome song great lyrics and a great tune - 10/10 Somebody Told Me - another Killer classic, more upbeat and awesome to listen to - 10/10 All These Things I Have Done - best lyrics in the album, "i've got soul but i'm not a soldier" - 10/10 Andy, You're A Star - 8/10 On Top - 9/10 Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll - weakest song on the album - 5/10 Believe Me Natalie - 7/10 Midnight Show - 9/10 Everything Will Be Alright - 8/10

Formed: 2002 in Las Vegas, NV

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Few bands in the early 2000s rose so quickly to the forefront of pop music as the Killers. With a mix of '80s-styled synth pop and fashionista charm, the band's street-smart debut, Hot Fuss, became one of 2004's biggest releases, spawning four singles and catapulting the group — particularly their dandyish, 22-year-old frontman, Brandon Flowers — into the international spotlight. Hot Fuss reveled in the garish glitz of the band's native Las Vegas, spinning tales of androgynous girlfriends...
