Album Review

The scatological meaning of Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water is obvious to anyone who's graduated junior high. Hot dogs and chocolate starfishes are metaphors, as Fred Durst uses them to illuminate his one topic, how nobody understands him. He occasionally frames his rage as us versus them, as on "My Generation," but, ultimately, it's all about himself. Durst dwells on bad things said about him, dismissing the criticism that he helped stoke the fires at Woodstock 99 with a round of the "critics that don't get it," and devoting a song to an attack at labelmate Trent Reznor. Some fans may empathize with Durst, but will it resonate?

Limp Bizkit

This is their best album by far. They reached No. 1 in the UK with Rollin'. Fred Durst is a genius. The highlights of this album are Rollin', Boiler, My Way, Take a Look Around (Mission Impossible Theme), Hot Dog (Probably the first song ever to have F**k repeated that many times, and a bit of a NIN cover of Closer) and Getcha Groove On (with Xibit). This album shows Nu-Metal at its best and any one who likes Linkin Park should own this album. My rating on this album is 9.5/10. Top 5 1 - Boiler 2 - Rollin' 3 - My Way 4 - Take A look Around 5 - My Generation Song Ratings Hot Dog - 9/10 My Generation - 9.5/10 Full Nelson - 8/10 My Way - 10/10 Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) - 10/10 Livin' It Up - 9/10 The One - 9.5/10 Getcha Groove On - 9.5/10 Take A Look Around - 10/10 It'll Be OK - 9/10 Boiler - 10/10 Hold On - 9/10 Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle) - 9/10

Limp Bizkit Rule ! (or at least they used to)

This album is awesome ! I can't stop listening to it, "My Generation" is amazing, one of the best nu-metal tracks EVER ! Rollin', what an anthem ! Wes's guitar solo's are ace ! ! ! This album was back in the day of Limp Bizkit, before they had problems with band members etc ... So naturally, this album's been made with more enthusiasm so sounds better than ANY of their others. Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The rap-metal outfit Limp Bizkit was formed in Florida in 1994 by vocalist Fred Durst and his friend, bassist Sam Rivers. Rivers' cousin John Otto soon joined on drums, and guitarist Wes Borland completed the original foursome (later supplemented by DJ Lethal). After Korn played the Jacksonville area in 1995, bassist Fieldy got several tattoos from Durst (a tattoo artist) and the two became friends. The next time Korn were in the area, they picked up Limp Bizkit's demo tape and were so impressed...
