Surprisingly good

As I have been learning Spanish recently, my teacher suggested listening to Spanish songs in order to attune my ear to the language. I discovered this album by Albert Hammond. If you've not heard of Albert you've more than likely heard some of the songs he has written if your around my age...
The air that I breath (Hollies)
When I need you (Leo Sayer)
One moment in time (Whitney Houston)
Amongst scores of other really well known songs. Although only one song on this album is written by Albert (Si Me Amaras) which is the spanish version of "When I need you", I was surprised by the easy going, middle of the road feel that most of the songs have. I was further surprised to find out many of the songs are decades old, with a couple around 60 years. Alberts interpretation really gives the songs a more contemporary feel. In addition most are quite catchy and I found myself singing along in a short time, even in Spanish. So definitely an album I would recommend if you like easy going music. This is definitely not europop, but something worth a listen.
