Lovely, reminds me of summer again...

I really liked this straight away. It usually takes me a few listens to get into an album, but this one was really easy to get to know and the tracks stick in your head. Its got a real summery (is that a word?) feel to it but also has few darker tracks on there too. Its a bit disjointed, and seems to flirt around a few different genres, but that isnt a bad thing in this case as all the tracks seem to go together nicely anyway. My favourites are Easter Lilly Vine (the girl on it has a lovely voice) and Sidewalk King. Carrie x

It's been a long time coming

Having been a fan of Nylon Rhythm Machine for quite a while now, Fanta Vista seemed to take ages to come out so the old e.p.s are getting a little bit worn!!! well worth the wait though, the album cut through my winter blues as soon as i put it on and made me think of summer. Some quite surprising stuff on here too, particuarly the vocal rounds on the last track, "remember". very very nice indeed. How long 'til the next one?

I'm first

This is a truelt great album for a number of reasons; Firstly there's a lot more whistling than on the first album, as i'm sure you'll al agree this can only be a good thing. Secondly Tim's got rid of the god awful skiffle player and got himself a teasmade instead, altough you don't hear much of it you can appreciate its presense from teh more relaxed sound that benefits from automatically made cups of tea delivered at a precise time every day of recording. Thirdly and most importantly none of this album, not even a tiny weeny corner tastes of orange, I know that a contrevercial view but i hate the taste of orange flavoured things, real oranges great but orange flavour no thank you very much, as a result i can happily munch away on this alblum for hours at a time without once worrying about my mouth suddenly filling with that vile flavour. Finally i think it weighs just the right amount for the number and length of the songs on there. A small point perhaps but an important one all the same, it's attention to detail like this that makes Tim one of my favourite artists.
