9/10

Unsafe at Any Speed is a display of class from the boys from Vaeda. Despite having broken up a few months prior to the release of UAAS, they still brought out the greatest accomplishment of their career as a band. Right from the first song, ‘Vultures’, you can tell you’re in for an album of epic choruses, intense emotion and excellent musicianship.
Tracks such as ‘The Bystander Effect’ and ‘Asleep at the Wheel’ display their ability to use effects to their advantage, without making the music seem like a solo album from R2D2.
The title track is an instant classic, the powerfully emotive vocals, and heartfelt lyrics able to silence even the most stubborn music elitist.
‘All for You’, a song featured on their previous album ‘State of Nature’, receives a makeover, becoming more minimalist and raw, without losing any of the appeal it had for first-time listeners.
