Album Review

The long-awaited single-disc anthology of Nirvana's work, simply titled Nirvana, has all the hits and many of the radio favorites, plus the very good previously unreleased final recording, "You Know You're Right."

Customer Reviews

great for every music lover!

God how i would love for another band like Nirvana to come along now. with trash like 'green day' and '50 cent' hogging the charts and as for the 'pussycat dolls', they just need strangling. nirvana was a band that rocked out loud with all of their albums, this greatest hits album is a good mix of the best from their albums from the raw and intense sound of 'in utero' to the underground of 'bleach',their most famous hits in 'nevermind' and the acoustic genius of 'mtv unplugged' - 'nirvana' shows just how great kurt, krist and dave were and the impact they had on the mainly rubbish music scene of the 90's. kurt cobains song writing is just mesmirising and as intense as anything and gives insights to how he felt about life. he wasnt arrogant, just a plain average guy with a great sense of rhythm and lyrics who in the end couldnt deal with the stresses and strains of moving masses of people with his art i envy the people who really got to appreciate nirvana from the beginning (me being only two when kurt died) and tell them just how lucky there were. everyone should have this album and is a great way to start off your nirvana collection. there are many great reasons to buy this album. buy this album if you are a fan of rock, buy this album if you like music and relive the greatest hits of, in my opinion, the best band ever!

This is an awsome album from nirvana if you dont have there others, if your just getting into this kind of music this is the place to start! Another band you should be looking out for is SEETTHER as there trying to bring grunge and rock back into the light.

Must have for any rock fan or there is something wrong with you.

I love this album, every song I can listen 2 over & over again. Kurt is a genius. I grew up listing 2 Nirvana, but I disagree with other reviews saying that green day are rubbish because there not. I grew up listening 2 them aswell. so screw u. Buy this NOW

Formed: 1987 in Aberdeen, WA

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '80s, '90s

Prior to Nirvana, alternative music was consigned to specialty sections of record stores, and major labels considered it to be, at the very most, a tax write-off. After the band's second album, 1991's Nevermind, nothing was ever quite the same, for better and for worse. Nirvana popularized punk, post-punk, and indie rock, unintentionally bringing them into the American mainstream like no other band to date. While their sound was equal parts Black Sabbath (as learned by fellow Washington underground...
