EDITORS’ NOTES

There’s tremendous poise to Elena Tonra’s astonishing vocals. Whatever rumbling atmospheric walls her Franco-Swiss band build, the Londoner holds her steely nerve. It’s a mesmeric blueprint that the three-piece perfect on this second album. Single “Doing the Right Thing” is the marker for their ambitions: tremulous guitars and mournful organ gather like storm clouds over Tonra’s intense account of her grandmother’s Alzheimer’s struggle. This intoxicating slow-burn envelops the album, particularly on the giddy “How” and glorious “Mother”. Elsewhere, “No Care” is a tightly-coiled dance beast, while “To Belong”’s tumultuous finale gives the album its euphoric release.

Not as good as previous album/EPs

I love daughter however this album is a bit disappointing. There are a few really good ones but the others can be quite annoying (no care). I really wanted to like the whole album so it's a shame.

Dull.

I don't understand the hype and love surrounding this album, I've listened to the entire thing twice and there was not one song that stood out to me. It's bland, and tedious. I love sad and slow music, but this really failed to get under my skin. It had zero personality and follows the same blueprint throughout each song. It tries really hard to be powerful and moving, but in the end, it fails.

Heyhaya ,

Love!

I've never felt more touched! The titles of each song are just beyond inspirational! So much love! ❤️
