A pleasant surprise from a band who know what it is to rock and roll!

Ok so this may not be the full original line up based on the fact that Sylvain Sylvain and David Johansen are the only surviving members of the band, but that should not detract from the fact that this is a very good album! There was a lovely South Bank Show on the 2004 re-union at London’s Meltdown Festival and what turned out to be Arthur Kane’s swan song as he died two weeks later. That they went on from there to record “One Day it Will Please us to Remember This” showed some real guts and I think they have pulled it off. The live shows in support of the album were brilliant and Johansen does not sound his age!!!! There is a real soul to the songs and inspired by the younger new members of the band this album does not let down the original line ups legacy. So why buy this album…because it’s a good old rock and roll album with two guys in the band who know a thing or two about what it is to…well give it a try you are in for a pleasant surprise.

Good effort

Gimme luv and turn on the light is a great tune. A great B-side to Lookin' For A Kiss; older and wiser guys aren't looking for a fix any more, they're just looking for love and a quick exit!

Rex, the New York Dolls created a new form of hard rock that presaged both punk rock and heavy metal. Their drug-fueled, shambolic performances influenced a generation of musicians in New York and London, who all went on to form punk bands. And although they self-destructed...
