iTunes Review

The verses on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx are so cinematically rich that, at times, Raekwon sounds like he's teaching a course in criminology. Conceptually, it's an album made for rap purists who appreciate nuanced hardcore lyrics and uniquely New York lingo—but there's universality here too. The visually dense "Incarcerated Scarfaces" and "Ice Cream" evoke the feeling of a mischievous sibling taking you to a grimy hangout spot—which you'll shamelessly want to revisit.

Customer Reviews

Raekwon tells vivid storys of underworld life and crime. A hip hop classic, one of my all time favourites along with illmatic, the chronic, ready to die, liquid swords and more.

Best hip-hop album of all time

In my opinion better than 36 chambers. Should be on the top ten on anyones list.
Its not immediately pleasing to the ear like pop-type rap records. Do you find you listen to a Jay-Z/50 cent/luda/ track... really like it but after a short time it get fades from your playlistings... A paper plate record as GZA would say. Well I got this album in 97 and still listen to it regularly.
Along with classics such as: 36 chambers, forever, liquid swords, illmatic, The infamous, ready to die, be, moment of truth, aquemini, A must have

The chef adds lyrical flavour

For me this is the greatest hip hop album of all time. However I would admit at first its rough on ears but after a listen the album is very sharp lyrically. Also it shows RZA on form, every beat on this album had a hypnotic style especially criminology. iTunes are selling this album too cheap

Raekwon may not have achieved the solo stardom of his fellow Wu-Tang Clan mates Method Man or Ol' Dirty Bastard, but along with Genius/GZA and frequent partner Ghostface Killah, he's done some of the most inventive, critically acclaimed work outside the confines of the group. Born Corey Woods and also nicknamed the Chef (because he's "cookin' up some marvelous sh*t to get your mouth watering"), Raekwon joined the Staten Island, NY-based Wu-Tang collective in the early '90s and played an important...
