Album Review

Scottish rock trio Fatherson present their sophomore album, Open Book. For their second effort, Fatherson have doubled down on anthemic songwriting, showcasing a more mature sound than their 2014 debut, I Am an Island. Open Book was recorded at the Wales-based Rockfield Studios with Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, Eliza and the Bear) behind the desk, before the recording was handed over to Adam Noble (Placebo, Nothing But Thieves) for the final mix.

Originally formed in Kilmarnock, Scotland by Ross Leighton (vocals and guitar) and Greg Walkinshaw (drums) in a physics class at school and initially called Energy! the group were rounded out by bassist Marc Strain before renaming themselves Fatherson.
