Customer Reviews

While no Spiderland, to compare or review Tweez with Slint's standout sophomore record is pointless, because Slint sounds like a different band between the two records. While there are no slow-burning epics coupled with lyrical poetry here, Tweez is a collection of short, interesting songs. In some ways the sounds Slint have come up with here are more progressive or experimental than on Spiderland, particularly with their use of guitar tone. I defy anyone to listen to Carol and not feel like rocking out. Well worth hearing, if only for curiosity.

Any music that defies easy categorisation is worthy of respect. I was late to Slint, but in this album you can hear much that Pajo was to do in the future, as well as a myriad other bands (think Mogwai meets death metal on ketamine). The guitar work is awesome, the vocals reminiscent of being accosted by an angry drunk. Try it, buy it, tell strangers how cool you are.

Whatever the extent of Slint's own influence, the group grew out of Louisville, Kentucky's...
