Furious Angels

Rob Dougan is a genius! This album makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up each time I play it. It's a shame that ITunes are not stocking the double CD album (had to buy it elsewhere) where the instrumental versions of the songs are provided on disc 2. Together the album is a glorious mix of Rob's own gravelly voice which contrasts with the instrumentals in a bizarre but incredible way. Apparently he took 6 years and a lot of his own money to make the album 'cause no record company wanted to shell out for an 84 piece orchestra which he uses on the tracks - thank god he did not compromise his musical vision and bend under pressure! A lot of the instrumentals are now famous as themes to TV and films. Don't be put off by that fact - his tracks are individual masterpieces. He was way ahead of his time and the tracks have more than stood the test of time.

Best album ever!

Never gets old always sounds fresh
