A Classic.

Quite possibly one of the finest albums this decade has had to offer so far. The Darkness truely served up a classic with this album. Songs like 'Growing on Me' and 'Friday Night' are fantastic rock songs. This is one of those albums where every track is as good as the last. Very highly recommended. Recommended Songs: (The entire album, but in particular:) 'Growing on Me' 'Love Is Only a Feeling' 'Holding My Own' 'Friday Night' 'Black Shuck'

I first heard The Darkness via 'Black Shuck' blaring out in a car and that first taste of rock genius soon propelled me into buying the album. I could tell by the front and back covers alone that I would not be disappointed and what I listened to shortly after placing the disc in my CD player was easily one of the greatest albums I've ever heard, it is an absolute gem of a throwback to the days of glam rock and groovy femininity! 'Get Your Hands Off My Woman' is hilarious, 'Growing On Me' also blitzingly fantastic, the greek taverna meets rock of 'Love Is Only A Feeling' is gorgeous with its subdued mood and 'Friday Night' is catchy as hell, a great dancefloor track. Then there is of course the legendary 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' with its OTT falsetto screams from Justin Hawkins that have probably been sung along to by the vast majority of the planet at some point!

Following the demise of an earlier, conspicuously synth pop-based outfit named Empire, the Hawkins brothers sowed the seeds of what would become the Darkness at an impromptu...
