From the opening chords of “I Saw Her Standing There” to “Twist and Shout”, The Beatles’ debut highlights the group’s live energy and songwriting strength. Recorded, edited and mixed in just over 25 hours, the mood of the album is raw and exuberant. The explosive sound of Please Please Me, with its frequent yelps and handclaps, as well as the unusual selection of American songs they chose to cover on the album, emulates the energy of their early R&B and rock ’n’ roll influences.

Greatest band off all time...


Just felt I had to download "Twist & Shout" on the first day it was available on iTunes, as it was the first record I ever bought. Lots of people are complaining about the cost of the downloads, and they are right to, especislly compared to US pricing, but I can't remember how much the reord cost me nearly 50 years ago, to play on my brand new Dansette, but I bet in relative terms it was more than 99p! Having said that, it was a 4-track EP!

this is great but you got voices in one speaker and music in the other best to get the remastered 2009 cd mono mix or an original record in mint condition gold stereo copy wud be nice any one got a time machine lol
