At last, something new...

Who are this band turning ripples into waves all over the scene? Not your average indie outfit, that’s for sure. No, the Mules are a tight, spiky act with a ‘creative’ approach to rhythm and melody. Mixing fiddle, keys, and Moog with choppy guitar and crack-snap drums, Save Your Face is a genuinely fresh and exciting début from the Oxford quintet. Not averse to the C word (Country, naturally), with a bit of Talking Heads thrown in, these gentlemen have crafted a shonky anthology of tales of modern living, refreshingly superior to the vast majority of 4/4 clichés peddled by today’s musical mediocrity. Just wait ‘til you see them live…

Polly-O, I love you so

The Mules are an exceptionally exciting, electric and eclectic new band. Polly-O will be big: really big. It's absolutely infectious and genuinely original. I expect great things.

Exciting, Eclectic debut from soon to be indie superstars

With jagged guitars, "tap-on-the-table" drum beats and most importantly fresh and catchy songs, "Save Your Face" is everything that indie music should be. As exciting on record as they are live, this album is everything The Cribs new album wasn't. And The Mules do it all without having to slag off today's indie scene. Especially reccomended on this exceptional debut are "Tule Lake", "Save Your Face" and "Polly-O".
