Pretties For You

Think Sesame Street cruising coast to coast in an open-topped Cadillac. This album is inventive, creative, wierd, arty, jazzy, far out and fun. It's also fantastic. This early Alice Cooper is for a different audience to the later stuff - you might well love it if you don't much like his more famous frightening ventures.

Great Debut Album

Despite the Alice Cooper Band being young and naive, i think this album is fresh and brilliant. I can here Beatles and Yardbirds in this album, also a few wierd but effective songs. My fave tracks have to be Swing Low, Fields of Regret, Levity Ball and Changing Arranging. I had the first two Alice Cooper Albums on vinyl years ago under the title School Days, this record was played till it was worn out now it's great to hear them again.

The Early Recordings

Pretties For You and the album Easy Action are the early recordings of the Alice Cooper band. Sounding very much like the early Pink Floyd, the Alice Cooper band was infamous for emptying concert halls with their onslaught to the senses. There is a certain charm to much of this album, but nothing to what they would achieve with the first proper Alice Cooper album, the incredible Love It To Death.

By that time, Furnier had adopted the name...
