Album Review

Her first French-language album following the huge commercial success of The Colour of My Love, 1995's D'Eux was Celine Dion's return to her native roots. Produced by Jean Jacques Goldman, her 20th studio album went onto become the biggest-selling French language release of all time, and includes the hit singles "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore," and "Je Sais Pas," both of which were rerecorded in English, along with "Vole," for follow-up Falling into You. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

what a singer and what a true diva

what a voice dont know what she is singing but you should listen

The true Celine Dion

This album is much more widely recognised amongst Celine's Francophone fans, in fact it is the best selling French album of all time ...but Anglophones don't be put off! This CD really shows Celine at her best, vocally and lyrically. Even if you don't understand the lyrics, the melodies and sheer beauty of Celine's voice captivates in tracks like La Memoire d'Abraham, J'attendais, Je Sais Pas and the famous Vole written for her niece who died of cystic fibrosis which is one the most moving tracks ever written. She somehow manages to capture several notes at a time and work them together stunningly. Le Ballet shows Celine's jazzy side and you can just imagine her singing it in a smoky Paris bar. However the undisputed classic in this album is Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, generally regarded as one of the most beautiful love songs of all time and one of Celine's personal favourites. Moving lyrics and a light but soulful melody. The most beautiful and soulful album from the greatest voice of our generation, one that everyone should hear and an absolute must for any Celine fan. A true diva in the best possible sense.
