Utterly addictive and genius

Now would be a good time to join the Duck Sauce bandwagon on their brilliant debut album, which oozes genius and gives a high five to the 80's retro electronic style which today is almost forgotten about.

Both Armand Van Helden and A-Trak are very distinguished artists in their field, AVH has brought us many dance classics such as "You Don't Know Me", "My My My" and many more. We also thank A-Trak for always keeping it fresh with brilliant waves of melodies included in such tracks as his remix to Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll" and the energetic but interesting collab with Tommy Trash "Tuna Melt".

Even though both are known for their unique sound, Quack doesn't draw a line between the two as you'd expect. You will no doubt be familiar with their debut track "Barbra Streisand" which started out as an annoying pet peeve which somehow turned into a club favourite, then you go onto "aNYway", which takes on a different shape as an electronic piece, more melodic and more serious, but still that brilliant enthusiasm and up-beat nature we previously heard in Barbra Streisand.

The up-beat nature continues on throughout the album, you'll find no depressing or down beat material in this album, Duck Sauce reminds us all what music is all about: making you happy. This album with probably go overseen due to its nature of being too-far out there, but what does that matter? It's an album that for once is made to make people smile before they make you take your wallet or purse out. Too much music these days don't give off nearly half the enthusiasm as this does, and too me personally, is a huge breath of fresh air from the new era of mainstream material you hear today.

Other notable mentions go too "NRG" a very fun track with a fantastic vocal melody to go along with it's up-beat attitude, also `"Radio Stereo" gives off a similar attitude with more 80's style too it.

Honestly, get this album. This is definitely one for the parties, or if you just need this kind of music to add to your fun lifestyle.

Good stuff DS

Fantastic, best album this year

I buy a lot of music but rarely leave a review on any of it. This album has compelled me to do change that, it really is a modern classic.

Every track is as strong as the originals like aNYway. Stand outs include Nrg and Radio Stereo. Overall just a real summer vibe, perfect for all occasions whether in the background at BBQ or a house party. Such a fun album, you'll love it!

Responsible for the impossibly infectious Boney M.-sampling party anthem "Barbra Streisand," Duck Sauce are the side project of Boston superstar DJ Armand Van Helden and Montreal turntablist A-Trak.
