iTunes Review

Born and Raised is a set of organic cowboy songs dreamed up under a starry night sky. Songs like “Queen of California” and “Shadow Days” reflect a countrified worldview. “If I Ever Get Around to Living” shimmers with intricate arpeggios and gentle backup vocals. Melancholy harmonicas inform the mood of “Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey” and “A Face to Call Home.”

His best yet!

This album is a game changer in John career. It's incredibly different from anything he's ever done and I LOVE IT. It is without a doubt, album of the year.

My favorite songs are A Face to Call Home, Born and Raised, Walt Grace, and If I Ever Get Around to Living however they are all AMAZING. Buy this album. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Better than Battle Studies, lyrically on par with Continuum, and musically brilliant! Well done John!!

Jonathan Clayton Mayer is the artist of this generation, this album is his best work to date so smooth & laid back with beautiful heart felt melodies & lyrics, it's a insight into the evolution of the man & the influences of his surroundings for the last yr or so residing in Montana, but still has his main influences behind it, which include the incredible Stevie Ray Vaughan & the songwriting of Bob Dylan! Quiet honestly the best Album of any artist of the last 10 years

Arriving during the tail-end of teen pop's heyday, he crafted pop music for a more discerning audience, spiking his songcraft with jazz chords and literate turns of phrase. The combination proved to be quite popular, as Room for Squares went triple-platinum...
