Black Stone Cherry

This is an incredible debut. If anyone has Smackdown vs Raw 2007 you will recognise Lonely Train. This is a great grunge album and if you like grunge then you should try this. There are not many bands who i love from their debut album, but Black Stone Cherry are one of them bands. The highlights from the album are Rain Wizzard, Blackwoods Gold, Shooting Star, When The Weight Comes Down, and of course Lonely Train. Black Stone Cherry's debut gets 10/10. Frankly and unreservedly, a perfect mix of Southern Rock and Metal. From the very first drum beats of "Rain Wizard" all the way to the epic yet pensive chorus of "Rollin' On" this album will have you on edge. Forceful, but not angry. Meaningful, but not pushy or offensive. And all this from a band in their early 20's! Bigger and better (if that's humanly possible) things to come from these guys in the future I hope! For a feel, listen to the exciting "Maybe Someday" and the deep "Hell and High Water"

Where Skynryd meets Sabbath

A good old fashioned rock album. No frills just great vocals searing riffs & very solid drumming. I haven't enjoyed an album like this since Wolfmother. It's good to see new bands taking this type of music on again.

Fiery Southern rockers Black Stone Cherry originally hailed from a small rural town in south central Kentucky. According to the bandmembers, none of whom were born before 1983, the lack of anything to do in their hometown, coupled with a rich musical background in their community and families, led them to start playing music. Lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Robertson met drummer John Fred Young (the son of Kentucky Headhunters' Richard Young) in school, and the two played music together throughout...
